Vulnerability

Whyte & Co is the first enforcement agency in the UK to be accredited to BS18477, the British standard for "Identifying and Responding to Consumer Vulnerability".

The Regulations state that anyone who is vulnerable should be given the opportunity to seek advice and assistance before enforcement action is escalated and additional costs incurred.

It is appreciated that some people may be facing challenges that prevent them from resolving their debt swiftly. This may be either a short-term issue, such as bereavement, separation or pregnancy, or it may be more long term.

Our Vulnerability Team is here to assist and should be contacted in the first instance if you feel you are vulnerable. They will suspend further action while they investigate your situation. It is likely that they will ask you to provide evidence to support your claimed vulnerability and they can enter into longer term arrangements, will liaise with our client on your behalf and, with your agreement, can refer you to a range of general and specialist advice and support agencies.
