The Enforcement Services Association was founded in 1906 and was established to ensure good practice for the profession. Membership can only be gained by undertaking a stringent written exam on the laws of distress together with satisfactory references and election by members. The association has a strict code of practise which ensures that all members maintain high standards of business ethics, operate within the law, hold professional indemnity insurance cover and maintain an open accounting system. Complaints about members to the association are thoroughly investigated. Whyte & Co has been a corporate member since May 1997.
The company also achieved Investor in People status in December 2000.
